Hey everybody, or whoever is reading. I'm Alyssa Beckham. I live in New York City, but I'm currently attending school in a tiny town in upstate New York, or as I like to call it...Bumblefuck. I am 18 years old, about 5'7" and around 215 pounds. Not. Good. I know. But that's what I'm here to fix. As I sit here, just having eaten breakfast (I know...It's 5:42PM, welcome to Spring Break) and watching The Biggest Loser re-runs, I feel an overwhelming sense of deja vu. I have done this weight-loss thing SO. MANY. TIMES. But I have a feeling about this time. I think it's really going to work. Being a college student, it's hard. I live in a dorm, I don't have a kitchen, I'm eating GM food and the gym feels like a hundred miles away. But this is my life and I kind of don't have a choice anymore. So, here it goes. Starting tomorrow, we're getting this show on the road!

Alyssa, I came across your blog on one that I am following. Being in college is hard and living in the dorm makes it harder. Do you have a microwave in your room and a ref. If you do you could buy a couple of prepared low fat frozen dinners and fix them. You could also keep fruit on hand. You can do this and like you said get the show on the road. I am going to follow your blog.

Hey Alyssa,

Thanks for stopping by my blog and the kind comments. To answer your question, my gym is a small one, owned by a personal trainer who does small group training. It's like having a personal trainer but not paying quite as much...it has really helped me since I was too intimated to go someplace like Gold's gym and work out on my own.

Good luck with your weight loss journey - you can totally do this! I'm excited for you, and glad you are blogging about it!

Hey Alyssa, welcome to the bloggie world! I know its hard to try weight loss when studying. I am trying it too! But with right choices and smart decisions you'll reach your goal! There are so many economical ways to lose weight, running, jogging, instead of gyms. Keeping raw food at hand like fruits, veggies etc.

Best of luck with the journey, hope to see you succeed!
